If Windows firewall is turned on then going into the Windows firewall under the exceptions tab and adding the port. So, the way I understand it is, you have your sonicwall, and you installed your viewpoint on the server machine. Now you want to get the sonicwall to communicate with viewpoint on port but it isn't? In the sonicwall under the log settings I am assuming you entered the IP to the server with port ?
If that's the case and viewpoint isn't showing anything, check the logs on the your server. If the port is blocked then there might be some errors with further clues we can work on. Also check the logs of the sonicwall and see if it is throwing out any errors.
Not sure how the sonicwall pushes to the viewpoint but maybe it's just a matter of just that Make sure your sonicwall can even see the server, try pinging the server from the sonicwall and vise versa. If it goes both ways then I am thinking we are just missing something simple.
